2008 (Redshirt Freshman): Metzger did not play during the season after coming off injury problems as a freshman.
2007 (Redshirted): Omaha native redshirted in his first year with the Creighton baseball program ... Played in the summer for the Watertown Wizards of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.
High School: Played baseball at Creighton Prep under former CU baseball player Pat Mooney ... Helped lead the Junior Jays to a 22-12 record and a berth in the state tournament as a senior ... Selected second-team all-metro by the Omaha World-Herald and honorable mention all-state by the Lincoln Journal Star ... His American Legion team was a regional qualifier following his senior year and state runner-up after his junior year ... Team won the Junior American Legion state championship after his sophomore season ... Earned all-tournament honors in American Legion at the State Tournament in Scottsbluff his senior season ... Went 10-3 with a 1.72 ERA, striking out 79 in 69 innings his senior season in American Legion.
