Baseball Outslugged by Arkansas, 6-2

Fayetteville, Ark. -- The Creighton Baseball team saw its five-game win streak snapped on Tuesday, April 19 as the Bluejays fell to Arkansas, 6-2.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 25-8 on the season, while Arkansas improved to 22-15.
Coming off a stellar performance against Nebraska last week, junior Austin Stroschein took the bump for the second consecutive Tuesday. Stroschein tossed a strong first frame, working around a single to post a goose egg. A leadoff single in the second for Arkansas looked harmless as Stroschein retired the following two hitters, yet being away from the spacious TD Ameritrade Park hurt the Bluejays as Arkansas' Chad Spanberger launched a two-run home run over the right field wall.
Arkansas added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, taking advantage of a Bluejay error to plate two unearned runs.
Down 5-0 entering the sixth, Creighton showed its fight. With two down in the frame, junior Daniel Woodrow was hit by a pitch, junior Nicky Lopez singled and senior Ryan Fitzgerald worked a walk to load the bases. Senior Reagan Fowler cashed in the work of his teammates with a two-run double to left-center. That, however, was the last run to cross for Creighton.
Stroschein suffered the loss (1-1), allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits in 3.1 innings. Arkansas' starter Isaiah Campbell collected the win (3-0) with three innings of scoreless ball. The Razorbacks turned to Doug Willey for the final four outs of the game, earning his third save of the season.
Harrison Crawford led the Creighton offense with three hits in the game, while Woodrow and Lopez each collected two hits in the loss.
Creighton returns to the field on Friday, April 22 as Creighton continues its four-game road trip as the Bluejays begin at three-game series at BYU. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm (CT).
