Getting to Know Ian Koosman
- Koosman had 19 appearances in games during the 2025 season, 10Â of which were in starting positions.Â
 - He pitched for 60.1 innings leading to a 5.07 ERA and tied with Dominic Cancellieri for the most batters struck out for the season with each having 59 outs.
 - He had a stellar performance on March 18th where Koosman set the record for the longest stretch pitching in a single game for a Bluejay. He threw shutouts in seven innings and striking out 9 players from South Dakota State.
 - He followed that up with another good performance the next week at Omaha where he threw another seven strikeouts helping the team to a 10-0 victory.
 - In an 11-8 win over Xavier on May 22nd, he threw four strike outs and bumped his win-loss record up to 8-4.
 - His record-breaking performance against South Dakota State earned him the title of BIG EAST Pitcher of the week during that time.
 
2023-24 (Scottsdale CC and Paradise Valley CC)
- Ian was named to the All-ACCAC Second Team, and Division II All-Region First Team.Â
 - At PVCC, Ian pitched 59.1 innings with a 6-1 record in 14 appearances.Â
 - While at Scottsdale, he allowed 46 hits, 18 walks, and delivered with a 1.52 ERA with 62 strikeouts.Â
 - In 16 games at SCC, Koosman pitched 27.2 innings allowing 21 hits, 11 runs, and nine earned runs leaving him with a 2.93 ERA.
 
2018-2022 (Willmar HS)
- His senior year he played in 19 games, batting .373 with 16 runs, three doubles, one triple, one home run, seven RBI, and six stolen bases.Â
 - During his junior year as a cardinal, he pitched 37.7 innings in 11 games out of 25 total appearances, allowing 30 hits, 18 runs, ending with a 2.79 ERA  and 25 scoreless innings.
